Expandable Sleeving

Braided Expandable Sleevings are touch, cut-resistant tubular sleeving products designed to protect wire bundles, harnesses, and hose assemblies from mechanical damage and environmental hazards. They are ideally suited for broad ranges of applications in aerospace, marine, electronics, and general manufacturing industries.

Expandable

The open weave construction enables it to expand up to three times its own diameter, enabling it to neatly encase a variety of elements. Since one size covers a wide range of diameters, a reduction in inventory is usually an added benefit. Because of its open weave, identification and inspection of sleeved components is easily accomplished.

Easy to Apply

Braided Expandable Sleevings slip on easily and is self fitting over irregular shapes and contours. Its round heat-set configuration and low surface friction speeds application without the use of lubricating fluids or powders. After installation, a slight tension will provide an even tighter fit. Expandable Sleevings make repair, access, rework, inspection, and installation easy and convenient.

Highly Protective

Expandable Sleevings are braided from extremely damage resistant monofilaments whose tensile strength and flexibility result in protective over sleeves that:

• Resist abrasion and scuffing
• Protect against rough surfaces, sharp edges, and corners
• Cushion against vibration and impact damage
• Prevent condensation and provide drainage
• Allow dissipation of heat and moisture

Environmentally and Chemically Resistant

Braided Expandable Sleevings are not degraded by exposure to most fluid environments including fuels, oils, salt water, most chemicals, and common cleaners and solvents. 
They do not trap heat or humidity, nor do they sustain mold growth.

Product Types:

Polyester (PET) for general purpose applications. Not flame retardant
Flame retarded polyester (PET). Conforms to the requirements of UL VW-1
 

POLYESTER EXPANDABLE SLEEVING

Round braided tubular sleeving manufactured from strands of polyester monofilament. This material is light weight and extremely flexible.  Its construction allows the sleeving to expand up to twice its nominal diameter, providing ease of installation.  Polyester Expandable Sleeving is used to provide an abrasion resistant cover over wires, wire bundles, hoses, and other materials.

FIRE RETARDANT EXPANDABLE SLEEVING

Round braided tubular sleeving manufactured from strands of fire retardant monofilament. The material is self-extinguishing and meets the requirements of VW-1 and FR-1 material. Fire retardant sleeving is identified with a crisscross tracer.
