M27500 is low voltage, high temperature cable (shielded or unshielded) that is ideal for use in a variety of both military and commercial applications, including those involving airframes, avionics, and ground support equipment. The M27500 specification allows for a wide range of construction choices, and as a result, it can be manufactured to perform in virtually every type of environment. Design components that can be specified by the user include conductor size and number of conductors, insulation type, shielding material, circuit identification, and jacket compound (single or double wall).

Although there is no QPL required for M27500, there is a QPL for the basic component wires. Because there are so many different construction types available for M27500, users may find it difficult to determine which one is appropriate for their specific application.
